Feb 28th -
Hey there kids....,
Happy Birthday Stacy......Feb 28th is the date.
We left Yuma this morning and are back in Quartzsite. On Thursday we are going to visit my sister Bernie in Tempe AZ and back home on Friday. The Ward's will watch our rig while we are gone - Greeley's are going to Phoenix to see their daughter Vickie - then on Saturday we will pack up and head towards Las Vegas.
Okay, last night it sprinkled a little and again this morning - the weather man said that we had 18 seconds of rain - it was much more than that though.
Here's some email notes from Greeley's that I incorporated into my email:
Good Afternoon,
I want you to know we have put in arough 2 or 3 days. We have worked real hard at trying to stay cool. The last 3 days it has been in the low 80's. Finding shade is a hard job. Espically being
winter down here. I like rubbing it in, and with no rain on top of it. We have had no rain since Oct. 17th/18th and then it was just a smidgen.
We will probably leave Ogilby Road tomorrow and head to Quartzsite for a day.
Yesterday we piled in Clossons truck and
headed to Slab City. But first we stopped at Costco in El Centro. We stopped by
Slab City (boy, have they cleaned it compared to what it use to be). Then we
drove on up to Sulton Sea so the Clossons could take pictures there, then on to
the Sand Dunes and home. The Rhodes and Audrey's sister Alma Mae chose not to go, the ladies had to go into Yuma.

Today the Clossons went into Yuma to have the truck serviced, the Rhodes & Alma Mae, and Wards went to Algodones. We chose to stay in camp and rest. We watched the Border Patrol fly over and finally land over near the Gold Rock R.V. Park. The railroad tracks ae just behind the park.
Later a sheriff car came out and drove around the camping area. Goldie & Glenda said that the Boder Patrol had some Mexicans held at Sidewinder Road. The Wards and Rhodes are back, and Alma Mae has left,I guess I'll go visit. Alma Mae is going to the Cocopah R.V. Park in Yuma, she is not fond of dry camping.
This shows some of what we've been up to. We've been back to Mexico twice since leaving Puerto Penasco - the second time down there it took us two hours to get back across the border. I've made a number of major purchases in Mexico - a Cowboy hat (very large), lots of tacos and food, and ..... are you ready a real Mexican Rolex watch - retails for about $12,000 but with a help of a friend I got it for $15... smiling.
Love
Mom and Dad
